18 Months and Older
Melissa Terrell joined our staff in February of 2006 and is the Lead Directress in the Little House. She received a Bachelor of General Studies from AUM in 1995. She previously worked as a preschool teacher in a local childcare program, and is currently working on her American Montessori Society (AMS) Infant/Toddler Certification.
Gert Myrick joined our staff in February of 2007 working in the Little House. She attended Riley College & John Patterson Technical College. Before joining our staff she was a teacher's aide at McInnis Center.
Carmen Hamell joined our staff in October 2004 working in the Little House. She attended the Fernandez Bilingual Institute. She was previously employed by Kinedyne Corporation.
Anne Harrington joined our staff as a Substitute in March of 2010. She has worked in all 3 houses and is now working afternoons in the Little House. She received an Associate Degree in Early Childhood from Southern Seminary College.
12 to 18 Months
Anita Carson joined our staff in February 2004 working in the Little House. She is a graduate of Dhaka University of Bangladesh with a B.A. in LIberal Arts. Before joining our staff she was a flight attendant for Bangladesh Airways.
Ms. Michelle Gilchrist joined the Montessori Academy community in 2010. She has 3 years of experience as an assistant and 3 years as Lead Directress in a Montessori classroom. Michelle received her North American Montessori Association certification, as well as a B.S. in Early Childhood/Elementary Education in 2008.
Ms. Jenn Lockwood has been a part of Montessori Academy since 2005. She began working as a teacher's assistant in the Little House and moved to the Pre Primary House in 2007.
Ms. Lacia Phillips joined Montessori
Academy in April 2011. She attended Troy University and completed an Early Childhood education course in California while in the Air National Guard. She has taught preschool Sunday School classes for 15 years, and has previous experience working with young children.
Ms. Danielle Lenier has been working at Montessori Academy since 2002. She began working as an afternoon teacher in the White Victorian; shortly after, she became an assistant in the primary classroom. Throughout her career, she has taught the Montessori PM class, served as the Afternoon Supervisor, as well as, being Lead Directress in the Blue Primary classroom. In 2006, she received her American Montessori Society (AMS) Teaching Certification.
Ms. KeeKee Myrick has been with Montessori Academy since 2008. She began as an afternoon teacher, and was quickly promoted to Afternoon Supervisor. She has been an assistant in the Primary Classroom since January 2010. She completed the American Montessori Society (AMS) teaching program in 2011.
Ms. Erin Kilgore has been working at Montessori Academy since 2002. She began as a teacher in the Little House, and soon moved to the primary classroom in the White Victorian. In 2006, she received her American Montessori Society (AMS) Teaching Certification.
Ms. Janet Mills joined Montessori Academy in May 2011 after spending 13 years in the retail business. For the past 5 years, she has taught Sunday School and Children’s Church. Her future plans include attending college to pursue a teaching degree.
Ms. Dawn Flemming became a member of our Montessori community in 1999 when her son enrolled in the White Victorian. In 2004, she received her American Montessori Society (AMS) Teaching Certification, and has now taught for 10 years.
Ms. Mandy Griffin became a member of our Montessori Academy family in November 2010. Ms. Mandy earned her B.A. in English Literature and Writing and a Minor is Studio Art. She has taught at Lakeview Academy in Gainesville, Georgia and at the Constructivist Nursery School at the Chugoku University in Okayama, Japan.
Regan Lancaster joined our staff in March 2010. This is her second year as Montessori PM teacher & Afternoon Superviser. She earned her B.A. in History from the University of Alabama.
Rhonda Goff-Barton serves as the Director of Admissions and is going on her fifth year at our school. Prior to coming to us she worked for eight years with Leon Loard Art Gallery and Fine Oil Portraits. She felt compelled to interview with our school because she was always her happiest when working with children on their oil portraits. She also worked as Administrative Assistant for the Director of Data Processing at Baptist Medical Center South for 7 years, was the assistant to the President of Colonial Insurance, supervisor of EDS Federal, and was the assistant to the leasing agents for Jim Wilson and Associates and Aronov Leasing, for a total of 7 years. She attented Perkinston Junior College in Mississippi and Saint Mary College in Xavier, Kansas.
